As we approach the end of 2024, we reflect on the significance of this anniversary year.
20 years since the first team visited Kapchorwa, Uganda.
15 years since Sisters Community Church started a child sponsorship program for children in Kapchorwa.
10 years since Hope Africa International established 501c3 status and Ugandan NGO status.
We are grateful for the generosity of many people, churches, and businesses over the past 20 years, helping Uganda's most vulnerable children to rise up and become a strong generation of people making change in their communities and nation.
As we celebrate many accomplishments, we also acknowledge that there is still so much more to do. We continue to keep sponsorship at a low rate of $42/month to allow people from all walks of life to engage personally with a child. But, in order to meet the needs of the children in Kapchorwa, we have to raise funds in addition to sponsorships. Our end of the year goal is $5000 to help us meet our budget in the following ways:
1. $1600 Covers Extra weekend study sessions for Primary 7 and Secondary 4 students' government exams
2. $1400 covers one secondary camp (High School) where students come together to worship, fellowship and learn from the Bible.
3. $1000 provides skills training in areas such as tailoring, agriculture, carpentry for Secondary 3 students.
4. $300 provides financial assistance with burial when a child loses a family member
5. $200 provides for food for parent meetings
6. $500 provides for extra child needs in emergencies (food, transportation, etc.)
